Privacy, clearly explained

Privacy Policy

Your Cron titles, notes, and schedules stay on your device. This policy explains that local data and the separate information that may be processed to show ads.

01 Overview

The short version

This Privacy Policy applies to the Cron iOS application, provided by lucidmaj7. Cron is a recurring local alert app. You do not need to create an account, and the developer does not operate a server that receives your Cron titles, notes, or schedules.

02 Local data

Data stored on your device

When you create or edit a Cron, the app stores the information needed to provide the alert, including:

  • The alert title and optional note
  • The interval, time, selected weekdays, and next alert information
  • The color, enabled status, and internal identifier for the Cron

This information is stored locally in the app's database on your iPhone. Cron does not upload this content to the developer, Google, or an advertising service, and it is not used to target ads.

03 Notifications

Local notifications

Cron requests notification permission so iOS can deliver the alerts you create. Alert content and schedules are registered with Apple's local notification system on your device. Cron does not use a remote push-notification server to deliver these alerts.

You can allow or deny notification permission, change it later in iOS Settings, pause an individual Cron, or delete it. Denying notification permission does not prevent you from viewing or editing your saved Cron items, but alerts cannot be delivered.

04 Advertising

Advertising and consent

Cron uses Google AdMob to display banner advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may process information such as your IP address, general device and app information, advertising or app-scoped identifiers, consent signals, ad impressions and interactions, and diagnostic information. The exact information used depends on your region, device settings, and privacy choices.

Where required, Cron uses Google's User Messaging Platform to ask for advertising consent. Apple App Tracking Transparency permission is requested before the advertising identifier, IDFA, can be used for tracking across other companies' apps and websites. If you do not allow tracking, Cron does not provide IDFA for that purpose. Google may still serve non-personalized or otherwise limited ads when its consent system permits an ad request.

Your Cron content is separate from advertising.

Titles, notes, schedules, and notification content are not added to ad requests and are not used to personalize advertisements.

Your decision about personalized advertising does not limit Cron's core alert features.

05 Third parties

Third-party services

Advertising and consent information is processed under Google's own policies. The developer does not control Google's data retention or the information processed by an ad after you choose to interact with it.

06 Your choices

Control your information

  • Cron content: Delete an individual Cron in the app. Removing the app deletes its local database from your device, subject to any device backups you control.
  • Notifications: Manage Cron notification permission in iOS Settings.
  • Advertising privacy: When required in your region, open Cron Settings and select Privacy Choices to review the available consent options.
  • Tracking: Manage tracking permission in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security and Tracking.

You may contact the developer using the address below if you have a privacy question. Because Cron content is not sent to the developer and is not tied to an account, the developer cannot retrieve or delete that local content for you.

07 Retention and security

How long data is kept

Your locally stored Cron content remains on your device until you delete the item or remove the app. Advertising and consent data handled by Google is retained according to Google's policies.

Cron relies on iOS app isolation and system protections for local data. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed. Keep your device software current and protect access to your iPhone.

08 Policy updates

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Cron's features, advertising configuration, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
