Privacy Policy

Your storage values stay on your device. This policy explains the capacity information DiskState reads locally, the Home Screen widgets, and the separate information that may be processed to show ads.

01 Overview

The short version

This Privacy Policy applies to the DiskState iOS and iPadOS application, provided by lucidmaj7. DiskState is a widget-first storage status utility. You do not need to create an account, and the developer does not operate a server that receives the storage-capacity values displayed by DiskState.

02 Storage information

Information DiskState reads

DiskState reads the total, used, currently available, and estimated writable capacity of the device’s current data volume, together with the time of the most recent reading. It also stores whether the Home Screen widgets have been activated.

These values are processed on the device and the latest snapshot is shared locally between the app and its WidgetKit extension. Later refreshes replace the snapshot. DiskState does not upload storage values to the developer, create a remote storage history, or add storage values to advertising requests.

DiskState does not inspect your personal content.

It does not access file contents, photos, contacts, precise location, or storage usage broken down by other apps. iOS does not make those categories available to third-party apps.

03 Widgets

Information on your Home Screen

DiskState widgets can display total capacity, used capacity, currently available capacity, and the percentage of storage used. Widget values are shared only through the on-device App Group container.

Information placed on the Home Screen may be visible to anyone who can see your device. You can remove the widget at any time. Widget update timing is controlled by iOS. The WidgetKit extension does not load the advertising SDK and does not display ads.

04 Advertising and consent

Advertising and consent

The main DiskState app uses Google AdMob to display a banner advertisement on the Status screen and a user-initiated rewarded advertisement to activate Home Screen widgets. Google and its advertising partners may process information such as IP-derived coarse location, device or app identifiers, advertising and product interactions, crash information, performance data, diagnostics, and consent signals. The exact processing depends on your region, device settings, consent choices, Google configuration, and Google’s policies.

DiskState uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to request and store advertising privacy choices where required. When Google indicates that a privacy-options entry point is required in your region, DiskState makes that option available from Settings.

DiskState does not request Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission and does not intentionally access the Identifier for Advertisers. Ads may still be served without IDFA.

Your storage values are separate from advertising.

Total, used, available, and estimated writable capacity are not added to ad requests or used by DiskState to personalize advertisements.

05 Third-party services

Third-party services

Advertising and consent information is processed under Google’s own policies. The developer does not control Google’s retention practices or the information processed after you choose to interact with an advertisement.

06 Your choices

Control and delete information

  • Home Screen: Remove a DiskState widget whenever you no longer want storage information displayed there.
  • Advertising privacy: When required in your region, use the advertising privacy option shown in DiskState Settings to review the available consent choices.
  • Local snapshot: Later refreshes replace the latest snapshot. Removing DiskState deletes its app container according to iOS behavior, subject to any device backups you control.

Because DiskState does not create an account or send storage snapshots to the developer, the developer cannot retrieve or remotely delete those local values for you. Advertising consent, identifiers, and related information handled by Google are retained according to Google and iOS controls.

07 Children and changes

Children and policy updates

DiskState is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a developer-operated service. Advertising is configured subject to applicable age and regional requirements.

This policy may be updated when DiskState features, advertising partners, platform behavior, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are published.
